If so, we are looking for you to join GRS North America Actuarial & Analytics as a Data Analytics Engineer and drive our journey to provide competitively-priced insurance products and services to meet our customers’ ever-changing needs!

What will you be responsible for?

As a data analytics engineer, you will be responsible for building and curating innovative technical solutions that combine a variety of internal and external datasets. Your work will give users access to the data in a format that will be foundation of our actionable insights and machine learning models.

Who will you work with?

We are looking for a passionate data & analytics expert who’s looking to build the next generation of data analytics solutions in collaboration with our amazing team of actuaries, analysts, and data scientists. You will also partner closely with our Technology organization to design and implement end-to-end data analytics solutions.

 On any one day you might:

  • Design and develop data solutions that allow automated and self-serve consumption by our data partners
  • Embed yourself in a pod of actuaries and analysts to discuss business requirements and convert them into technical solutions
  • Team up with agile technology teams to deliver access to credible data
  • Collaborate with your peers to ideate on solutions, innovate on deliveries, and develop best in class processes
  • Design and implement internal process improvements, optimize data delivery, and create scalable datasets
  • Share your technical expertise with our analysts and actuaries to improve our overall data literacy

What does it take to be successful?

  • A true love for solving complex problems with data
  • Curiosity to better understand the business questions at hand and anticipate what comes next
  • Solid technical skills delivering data solutions in a variety of technologies (SQL, SAS, R, Python, etc.)
  • The ability to write code that is easy to support, reusable across use cases, and runs efficiently
  • Action-oriented with a focus on figuring out new problems and regularly showing results with a positive attitude
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required. Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred. Master`s in same or related disciplines strongly preferred.
  • 5-7+ years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in NoSQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack. 5-7+ years experience as developer with top quadrant Business Intelligence tools
