The IT Business Analyst - DevOps Engineer role is trusted to lead, develop, and implement capabilities and processes that drives maturity, performance, and alignment within the Enterprise DevSecOps Center of Practice. The successful candidate will be driven and results oriented and will partner and collaborate with other departments, teams, and all levels of leadership.

This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the build an execution of our Center of Practice (CoP) with our DevSecOps group by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including development, operations, quality assurance and security, to streamline processes
  • Develop and lead the execution of CI/CD pipeline strategy to improve developer productivity, agility, and code quality
  • Champion software development lifecycle workshops to identify pain points, productivity barriers, and determine ways to resolve them
  • Lead the collaboration with development teams to understand their current build/release processes and make recommendations for improvement
  • Develop an automated testing strategy to reduce manual effort and improve product quality
  • Develop and continuously improve automation strategies that will enable teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently through Continuous Deployment
  • Ensure that systems meet business and customer needs for reliability and availability
  • Enable an operation support model for monitoring and managing application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root cases and issue resolution
  • Develop, prepare, and present CI/CD Operational Metrics on the growth of the Enterprise DevSecOps Model growth, adaption, and increased agility to product development to multiple stakeholders and Senior Leadership
  • Align an automated governance to support all audit, regulatory, and standards to support automated continuous deployment
  • Stays current on technologies and business processes. Evaluates new applications and identifies systems requirements. Identifies evolving business requirements, measures business processes and application performance, and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.
  • Understands the data and how the business process function within the IT applications. Maintains a base understanding of interfacing applications.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related/equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in an information technology role including a minimum of 4 years’ experience in business systems analysis
  • 2+ years of relevant DevOps experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps required (Repos, Pipelines, Test Plans, etc.)
  • Background in Oil and Gas preferred.

Skills

  • Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Experience developing CI/CD workflows and tools.
  • Proficiency in one or more coding languages ( e.g. JavaScript, C++, Python, Java, .Net).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible, OctupusDeploy).
  • Experience with development platforms (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong automation scripting skills.
  • Experience in configuration management, test-driven development and release management.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with agile development and strong understanding of DevOps principles.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information, and to draw conclusions.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and desire to learn new languages and technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with incident management, change management, and release management.
