Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Analyst in the Business Intelligence team, working within the broader Strategy & Services department team out of World Courier’s Vilnius office. Under the direction of the Senior Analyst, with mentoring from the Senior Manager, you will be a key member of the team and bring analytical skills to a variety of projects in World Courier’s fast growing and complex business.

The role will be responsible for identifying and communicating key insight, owning varied BI team outputs, and analysis of all aspects of business intelligence and strategy. Also, consulting with stakeholders to help define reporting, develop analytic solutions and data structures, and to facilitate intelligence strategies, delivering these on time and to a high quality against an agreed plan. The Business Intelligence Analyst will function as the BI tool expert providing on-demand reporting and training to other users. They will collaborate with teams across the department and there will be considerable on the job training and opportunities to significantly expand your role, ranging from more advanced analytical work to project management.

The successful candidate should be capable of heavily utilising a wide range of analytical and problem-solving skills that may require intermittent exploration and clarification from the line manager; strong communication skills; experience at owning smaller projects or components of larger deliverables with support.
 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the key resource for interpreting data and information; communicates results to team members
  • Operates as a primary contact between the department and data/ IT/ governance teams to facilitate the delivery of business intelligence solutions
  • Works closely with operations, technical teams, and wider business colleagues to coordinate cross-functional project activities and ensures deliverables are accurate and meet customer requirements
  • Facilitates effective working relationship between BI and Analytical Support team
  • Utilizes business intelligence tools across all departments and functional areas providing detailed analysis, insight, and reporting
  • Assesses analytics and reporting needs; provides recommendations for enhanced solutions and specifications for business intelligence tools
  • Manages the delivery of BI solutions to internal and external customers
  • Contributes to prioritising different needs across business areas to support deployment strategies and business goals
  • Supports development of protocols to extract data in a standardized process from a variety of data sources
  • Helps to define, track, and remediate data quality and data management standards
  • Supports development of prototypes and models for database, data integrations and data transformation needs
  • Maintains and develops strong working relationships with stakeholders as a process advocate
  • Supports creation of speech and presentation materials for members of the management team
  • Keeps abreast of healthcare trends and competitor activity.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to effectively participate in cross-functional problem solving teams
  • Planning, analytical, and intelligence skill set to capably evaluate business problems and identify and apply appropriate solutions. Exposure to best practices
  • Strong business acumen
  • Experience in relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server or Access) and data management essential
  • Experience with object-oriented programming (e.g. VBA, Python) desirable
  • Experience with Alteryx Designer desirable
  • Experience with statistical or maths packages (e.g. R, Stata, SPSS) desirable
  • Experience with other coding language or BI tools desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Excel

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum of 18 months direct progressively responsible experience with strong analytics and reporting experience.
  • Requires some training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, or computer science generally obtained through completion of a three/four year Bachelor’s Degree program
