Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a junior analyst to join the Strategy team out of World Courier’s central London office. Reporting to the Senior Strategy Analyst, with mentoring from the Director of Strategy, you will be a key member of the team and bring your developing analytical skills to a variety of projects covering all aspects of strategy and aligning closely with financial planning.

The Junior Strategy Analyst will develop to provide expertise in analytic tools, underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of the business, the market and our competitors, as well as executing ad hoc analysis as required, effectively communicating strategic analysis and outputs to senior leaders in the business.

There will be considerable on the job training and opportunities to significantly expand your role, ranging from more advanced analytical work to supporting strategic initiatives. This position would suit a candidate who has had experience in a similar role or a recent graduate who has successfully completed an internship in a business setting. Remuneration is competitive.

This role will utilise strong analytic skills, though regularly seeking input/steer from other team members is expected to ensure an optimal approach. The successful candidate must be capable of working on their own for extended periods and comfortable with clearly communicating results of analysis to senior stakeholders. Limited experience at managing small projects expected.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertakes ad-hoc analysis to support justification for financial planning and other presentations provided by senior management
• Supports on power point deck creation to communicate the results of analysis in compelling ways, landing key points and reaching the ‘so what’ of the analysis
• Serves as a key resource for interpreting data and information; communicates results to team members.
• Works closely with different departments to coordinate cross-functional project activities and ensures deliverables are accurate and meet customer requirements.
• Utilizes business intelligence tools across all departments and functional areas providing detailed reporting and analysis.
• Maintains and develops strong working relationships with business owners as a process advocate.
• Supports creation of speech and presentation materials for members of the management team.
• Keeps abreast of healthcare trends and competitor activity.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Ability to effectively participate in cross-functional problem solving teams
• Planning, analytical and conceptual skills to evaluate business problems and identify and apply appropriate solutions
• Solid business acumen
• Experience of relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server or Access) and data management desirable
• Experience with object oriented programming (e.g. VBA, Python) desirable
• Experience with Alteryx Designer desirable
• Experience with statistical or maths packages (e.g. R, Stata, SPSS) desirable
• Experience with business intelligence tools, capabilities, and best practices desirable
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Excel essential
