Job Description

The Intern will work in support of AI and Data Science activities across GHX. An experienced engineer will be assigned as a primary contact to communicate assignments and provide necessary guidance. The Intern will be given instructions and directions for continuous training on the job as required for the assignments and be expected to collaborate with GHX employees. This internship will focus on one or two key efforts: development of implementation of symbolic rule based AI (e.g. Prolog), coupled to knowledge graph and integrated to GenAI LLMs.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in at least one programming language.
• Familiarity with first order logic
• Interest in a career in AI, machine learning or data science
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Foundational knowledge of SW engineering principles.
• Growth mindset: curiosity and eagerness to learn.

Required Education:

• Working towards, or completion of a, degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or other technical/science degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with logic programming language such as Prolog.
• Familiarity with graph databases.

• Course work or experience in one or more of the following: machine learning, logic, optimization, language semantics, statistics, simulation, experimental design, ODEs, PDEs, probability models.

• Knowledge of DBMS technologies and SQL.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Development of logical facts and inference rules.
• Learn about and apply symbolic rules and graph structures.
• Produce reports and detailing findings.
• Produce modular reusable code.

Estimated salary range: $25/hr - $30/hr for 3 months and may be extended if needed

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
