Job Description

CodaMetrix is seeking a motivated and curious Machine Learning Intern to join our team. This is a hands-on, learning-focused opportunity ideal for students pursuing a Bachelor’s or early Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. You’ll gain real-world experience in machine learning engineering while contributing to projects that make a meaningful impact on healthcare technology.

What You'll Do:

• Assist in developing and testing machine learning models and data pipelines
• Support data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis
• Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists on training, evaluating, and experimenting with models
• Help document workflows, model performance, and results
• Participate in scrums, code reviews, and team meetings
• Work with tools like Databricks, Spark, and AWS
• Apply programming skills (primarily in Python) to contribute to ML initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline
• Familiar with Python and libraries such as pandas, NumPy, or scikit-learn
• Exposure to machine learning concepts, algorithms, or coursework in statistics
• Interest in distributed systems, data engineering, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Databricks)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and grow in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Skills:

• Familiarity with Spark, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
• Experience in group projects, hackathons, or ML research
• Knowledge of healthcare data or coding systems (ICD, CPT, SNOMED)
• Use of Git, Jupyter notebooks, or ML experimentation tools

Program Duration:

• Internships: 14 weeks
