Job Description

Sanctuary, a world leader in building AI-based control systems for humanoid robots, is looking to hire a skilled and motivated Controls Engineering co-op to join our Controls team. In this role, you will support the implementation of control systems. This role will involve working on various software and integration tasks, ensuring the seamless deployment of robotics systems on physical hardware.This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the future of robotics while working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers.

Our Success Criteria

• Develop and implement software for robotics systems using C++ and Python.
• Support the integration and deployment of control systems on hardware, ensuring functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to test, debug, and refine control solutions.
• Contribute to documentation efforts and provide updates using Confluence and Jira.
• Assist with project management tasks to ensure timely delivery of milestones and deliverables.

Your Experience

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Robotics or a related field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience developing software for robotics on physical hardware.

Skills

• Proficiency in C++ and Python programming.
• Strong understanding of ROS 2 and its applications in robotics.
• Experience working on complex software stacks as part of a team.
• Knowledge of multibody rigid body dynamics and robot control is an asset.
• Experience with kinematics and dynamics libraries for robotics is an asset (e.g., Pinocchio, Drake, Mujoco).
• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and project management tools is an asset.
• Experience with off-the-shelf hardware is an asset (e.g. Franka, UR, Kinova).
• Knowledge of ros2_control is an asset.
