As the Engineering Manager for our Search Relevance team, you work closely with our Product, Engineering and ML team to enable patients find the most relevant care on our marketplace and deliver a better health care experience. Your leadership of this product engineering team will result in us shipping quickly with the right amount of investment in infrastructure, bettering our product and improving the lives of millions of patients. Your dedication to building a culture of transparency, inclusion, and support will help ensure that our engineering is always evolving and growing. Your ability to combine technical capabilities, digging into details to unblock teams and steer through complex engineering tradeoffs, with business knowledge and context is crucial for the success of Zocdoc.

Your day to day is…

• Leading, managing, and growing a team of Machine Learning engineers and Data Scientists to deliver highly reliable, performant software solutions
• Partnering with product, with an emphasis on being a liaison between product managers and engineers and maintain a clear technical and product strategy and roadmap
• Working across the organization on Engineering Culture, helping to build career ladders, steer cross-team events, and help build an inclusive technology workforce
• Mentoring and coaching a team of engineers to maintain a high quality of work, while delivering new features with high velocity
• Making sure we are building out the platform’s capabilities with attention to security, scale, performance, and uptime

 You’ll be successful in this role if you have…

• Experience working on consumer facing products using Machine Learning
• Shipped multiple product features to external customers, either as an IC or Manager with large scale Machine Learning / Data Infrastructure
• A deep knowledge of software development methodologies with a focus on Machine Learning and Data Science
• Passion for understanding the use cases of your customers and a focus on collaboration
• Experience working with microservice architectures and AWS / cloud environment
• Solid communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and build consensus with engineers at all levels
• The mentality of an entrepreneur/owner and a strong bias to action
• You believe in treating all people with dignity and respect, regardless of title or tenure, and you approach tough conversations with empathy

Zocdoc is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary ranges are determined through alignment with market data. Base salary offered is determined by a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills. Certain positions are also eligible for variable pay and/or equity; your recruiter will discuss the full compensation package details.

NYC Base Salary Range

$190,000—$255,000 USD
