About the role:
The ML Data Shop team is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to support the labeling team in delivering a labeling platform that produces high quality labels at low cost and on time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work with labeling customers to understand their needs
- Drive and communicate both long and short term visions from those needs
- Translate the visions into goals, plans and drive execution
- Hire and support other world class manager and engineers
- Leverage the state of the art in deep learning to solve challenging large scale real world robotics problems
- Work with teams across Cruise to foster a collaborative culture of quality and safety

What we are looking for:
- Hired and supported team of 15+ engineers and managers
- 6+ years experience supporting and growing high performance teams
- Expertise in large scale data labeling, auto labeling or related machine learning spaces.
- Expertise in building and maintaining ML pipelines at scale
- Startup mentality - openness to dealing with unknown unknowns, wearing many hats, and making effective prioritization decisions
- Passionate about self-driving technology and its potential impact on the world
- Strategic, collaborative and execution-focused
Bonus points!
- Built infrastructure to train and/or leverage VLM and LLM
- Built complex UI maximizing user efficiency
- Applied active learning techniques for production systems
- MS or Phd in Computer Vision, Natural Language, Machine Learning or a related field
The salary range for this position is $208,400 - $306,500. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
