Job Description

As a Senior Data Science Engineer at Micron, you will lead our data science team and work closely with stakeholders to solve complex problems using data-driven techniques. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of advanced statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data systems, and will use this knowledge to drive the development of innovative solutions.

You will guide and interact with experienced Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Areas Engineers to identify questions and issues for data analysis projects and improvement of existing tools. In this position, you will help develop application, algorithms and/or automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. There will be significant opportunities to perform exploratory and new solution development activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and Mentor: Unlike junior data scientists, a senior data scientist is expected to lead projects and mentor junior team members, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
• Advanced Analysis: Conduct advanced data analysis and complex designs algorithm. This involves not just applying existing algorithms, but creating new ones when necessary.
• Innovation: Drive innovation in the data science team. A senior data scientist should be at the forefront of emerging trends and technologies in data science.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and explain data insights. This is a key difference from junior roles, as senior data scientists often take on a more client-facing role.
• Develop and implement AI/ML models to enhance semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Manage the end-to-end data science project lifecycle, including data collection and cleaning, model development, and UX/UI design.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven understanding of AI/ML algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in Python or other data science languages.
• Experience with data visualization tools and UX/UI design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Python, Typescript, Angular 16, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering , or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role, preferably in a leadership position. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with the semiconductor industry is a plus.
• Experience working with LLM, LangChain, time-series data, and data with frequently changing distributions is a plus.
• Experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), OEE is a plus.
