Our Marketing Data Science transformation is in full swing. We embarked on transforming and building a world-class Marketing DS Org recently. Our team helps to power PayPal’s high-growth Marketing organization by delivering actionable insights and business intelligence for our 200+ million customers.

About You

In this role, you will lead a workstream solutions for complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility business challenges. You will set and execute on a vision that reflects your deep analytical expertise. You will be a thought partner to Marketing leadership teams.

You will partner with these teams to understand the insights they require to manage and grow their business and leverage cross-functional teams to develop and land solutions that meet their needs at scale. You are deeply curious and persistent in gaining knowledge about our products and go-to-market strategy.

You will have exposure and visibility to PayPal’s Marketing, Product, Finance, and Marketing Technology teams, as you work with them to build out a world-class MMM (Marketing Mix Modeling) program and manage the Analytics relationship with the company’s media agency partners. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the roadmap of an internal MMM program leveraging the latest methodology and industry best practices.
  • Lead the analytics relationship with media agencies across all Marketing business units.
  • Build and lead a team of high-caliber data scientists to support Paid channel marketing analytics.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing data-driven insights including but not limited to Business casing, Deep dives, Modelling, Campaign Performance readouts, and optimization.
  • The Manager will also deliver accurate, action-driving recommendations to drive business performance and investment optimization. This will be a people Manager role with heavy Individual contributions on Strategic projects.
  • Manage multiple analytical projects at a time, in a fast-paced, intense, and results-oriented environment.
  • Influence stakeholders to make business decisions in alignment with global measurement approaches.

Requirements

  • Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, and Economics. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in analytics, data science or management consulting or equivalent analytical and project management experience. 5+ years as an analytics people manager.
  • Extensive background in MMM (across the entire spectrum of product management, data architecture, and applied analysis), and Paid Media analytics is an absolute requirement.
  • Accomplished contributor with experience managing high-performing Data Scientists, Quantitative Analysts, and Data Engineers.
  • Experience working within and driving strategy for large, global, complex organizations across multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to drive towards action and impact.
  • Experience in managing analytics projects from inception to delivery, including developing structured solutions.
  • Experience with visualizations, dashboards, and reports
  • Experience with data modelling, machine learning algorithms, and data science techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and BigQuery.
  • Experience explaining technical concepts and analysis implications to varied audiences and translating business objectives into analyses.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$107300 to $259600
