Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 500 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 1000 servers in Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, because we give a 360 degrees view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer. We use cutting-edge technologies to manage BMC's infrastructure and showcase it to the customers – program is called BMC on BMC!

BMC is looking for a Lead Technology Solution Specialist with strong technical acumen, proficient communication skills, proactive problem-solving skills focused on Application Infrastructure Design, DevOps to join us in our journey of delivering high efficiency Operational solutions through thought leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage production environments to ensure systems are running efficiently, effectively, accurately, and securely. Providing communication and escalation to stakeholders on critical incidents or problems.
• Oversees and enforces information technology policies on security of applications, application infrastructure, and enterprise information.
• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.

Success Behaviours:

• Understand how to apply technology to improve the operational effectiveness or efficiency of specific IT functions or applications.
• Ensure high availability for all applications, reduce/eliminate system outages and outage windows, automate to reduce MTTR, determines root cause of issues and prevent it from happening again.
• Understand enterprise scale, integrated applications from a process and business perspective.
• Understands and can articulate how BMC solutions align to the internal needs.
• Receives positive Customer feedback from BMC leadership, teams, and peers.
• Communicates and orchestrates actions effectively for project success (e.g., proactively mitigates risks before issues impact the project).
• Escalates appropriately for issues impacting internal opportunities, project delivery or Customer satisfaction, following process and policy.
• Continuously improves own skills and proactively seeks new learning and engagement opportunities.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and visualize solutions for emerging concepts.
• Fulfils all Ethics and Compliance training/testing requirements to always protect BMC interests and assets.

Qualifications/Experience/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Application Infrastructure Design, DevOps toolsets, communications, and network protocols, or equivalent education and experience.
• Mandatory experience and/or deep knowledge of Application Infrastructure Architecture Design on Hybrid Technology Platforms (On Prem, SaaS, PaaS)
• Strong system-level architecture experience, with expertise in process workflows and operations support.
• Proven ability to lead large IT enterprise and organizational transformations in complex structural and cultural environments.
• Background in large-scale enterprise application deployments across Networks, Storage, Identity, Disaster Recovery, and Application Security.
• Proficiency in implementing Monitoring & Observability Solutions leveraging AI/ML capabilities.
• Skilled in developing and executing strategic roadmaps for Application Upgrades, Patching, and Operations optimizations.
• Collaboration experience with application, network, and security teams for application troubleshooting and impact assessment.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing corporate IT application infrastructure in Linux, Windows, Aix, AWS, Kubernetes, ensuring 24x7 availability with on-call rotations.
• Integration of security into architecture solutions as part of DevSecOps practices.
• Expertise in Continuous Deployment (CD) using tools like Control-M and Ansible.
• Well versed with Incident, Change, and problem management (ITSM) Processes with Remedy (or Similar platform).
• Proficiency in Containerization platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker Enterprise & DTRs.
• Excellent presentation skills, including customer-facing engagements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in multicultural and geographically distributed environments.

• Security & Secrets Management- Check Marx, GitHub Advance Security, SonarQube, HashiCorp Vault
• Monitoring- BMC True Sight, Splunk, ELK (or equivalent)
• Testing- SmartBear Test Complete, Ready API, Postman
• Automation- Unix Shell Scripting, Python, Terraform, Ansible.

Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
