Job Description

Our team uses Palantir Foundry and various related technologies as a data and application platform for delivering client-facing applications and data-driven solutions. As an engineer in the team, your focus will be to drive the novel use of Artificial Intelligence models in production use cases. You will create functional prototypes, new software and data deliverables, enhance and maintain existing products, support teams from across the wider organization, learn new skills, and explore new ways of combining the latest technology and data.

The Impact You Will Have in This Role:

You will be collaborating with data scientists, computer scientists, analysts, business domain experts, and working directly with clients/partners to solve problems, design and build solutions, present data visualizations, and deliver actionable insights. These data-driven solutions will help both our clients and colleagues make better decisions and achieve greater outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing in This Role:

  • Working as part of a team to create new product deliverables using a variety of skills, from rapid prototyping tools through to all-code solutions.
  • Work with new data. Design, implement, and maintain robust data analysis and modelling using large and complex datasets with Python, Spark, and other related technologies.
  • Collect relevant information and demonstrate good judgement in selecting methods to obtain solutions. Collaborate with a team, utilizing collective skills and expertise to plan for long-term success. Present your solutions and findings to stakeholders.
  • Test and verify that your implementations meet requirements. Self-govern your use of best practices and conventions, then peer review with your colleagues. Document your work and decisions.

Qualifications of This Role:

  • Data Science (or related) educational background.
  • A logical, practical, and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Strong, clear, and professional customer-facing communication skills. The ability to discuss technical concepts accurately and succinctly, with both technical and non-technical people.
  • A general knowledge and interest in state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence related technologies. You should have used Generative AI and be aware of the key concepts.
  • Experience creating, evaluating, and deploying machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive models.
  • Experience with data engineering fundamentals, ingesting data, designing efficient and practical data schemas, feature engineering, etc.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, TypeScript, R, or similar. Not afraid to pick up and learn something new in a short amount of time.
  • Willing to make informed decisions, taking both action and responsibility, to ensure that our clients can rely on us to deliver excellence.
  • Automotive data and domain knowledge is desirable, but not essential.
  • Able to travel as needed to meet with customers, colleagues, and business partners.

The Hiring Manager Says:

An ideal candidate might find joy in problem solving and discovering novel ways to achieve an outcome. You will be designing and implementing thoughtful and robust technical solutions, with some autonomy to be creative in the approach. Don’t expect a step-by-step how-to guide but do expect to collaborate with other competent and experienced people to find solutions.

While this hybrid role offers some flexibility and the ability to work remotely when convenient, the nature of the collaborative work will benefit from regularly working in the same physical location as colleagues, with synchronous communication, whiteboarding, and the rapid exchange of ideas.

The Way We Work:

  • Leader Led
  • Remote First
  • Foster Flexibility
  • Reward Performance
  • Time Off Matters
