Job Description

The Controls Team at Gatik is looking for two highly motivated and qualified Intern/Co-op to work on the development/implementation of control and optimization techniques for autonomous box trucks for autonomous middle-mile delivery to improve supply chain efficiency. You will play an essential role in helping accelerate the development and deployment of our AV technology. This position has a strong technical background, hands-on software engineering experience, and a knack for solving hard problems.

What you'll do:

• You will play an essential role in helping accelerate the development and deployment of our AV technology
• Design custom-build optimization packages for use in the truck controller operating in real-world scenarios
• Design learning-based controllers for autonomous vehicles operating in real-world challenging scenarios

What we're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in a Robotics-related field
• Related publication in top-tier journals and conferences (e.g., ICRA, IROS, CDC, ACC, etc.)
•  experience in C/C++
• experience in Matlab/Simulink
• Solid understanding of optimization algorithms, numerical methods, and open-source optimization solvers
• Solid experience in ML/AL methods and learning-based MPC
• Solid backgrounds in math and linear algebra
• Solid experience in vehicle dynamics modeling and control, and optimal controls
