Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a Data Scientist to join the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) Chief Technology Office (CTO) in support of the Architecture Council. The CDAO CTO provides strategic awareness, advice and expertise related to technology trends in support of the acceleration of the adoption of data, analytics, and AI across the DoD. This particular position focuses on advancing CDAO’s AI/ML and data-driven initiatives. The Government portfolio lead will provide guidance and direction. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical writing skills and technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Support development of insider threat strategy in support of protecting CDAO technical offerings; balance short-term wins with long-term investments to progressively mature CDAO’s defenses against insider threats.
  • Lead coordination of policy and strategy related to insider threats with industry partners and other DoD components.
  • Lead exploration of data sources that are relevant to measuring, identifying, and defending against insider threats.
  • Provide technical leadership in developing capabilities to detect insider threats among large user communities, leveraging combination of statistical, classical machine learning, and deep learning methods.
  • Write documentation about CDAO’s strategic approach to insider threat defense and how it fits within the broader DoD insider threat ecosystem.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active Secret security clearance. Applicants who do not posses a current and active Secret security clearance will not be considered for this role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field plus 4 years experience OR Masters Degree in Computer Science w/ 2 years experience.
  • Experience with data science techniques, classical machine learning, and deep learning for anomaly detection.
  • Experience with Jupyter, Spark, and either Tensorflow or PyTorch.
  • Previous relevant technical leadership experience.
  • Exemplary technical writing skills.
  • Prior experience in insider threat detection, fraud detection, or anti-abuse engineering is preferred.
  • A traditional background in cybersecurity is not required.
