Job Description

GM Financial International Operations conducts business in Latin America, Europe and China. International Operations offers a wide range of wholesale and retail automotive financing products to dealers and their customers. The strength of the international business lies in its ability to tailor its products to meet unique dealer needs, consumer preferences and national requirements in local markets. Latin American country operations include Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.

  • Flexible hybrid work environment, at least 3 days a week in the office at our Detroit, MI office.
  • This role will report to the IO President and will have a dotted reporting line to the SVP, IO Finance & Treasury.

Responsibilities

About the role

This key role within the International Operations Senior Leadership Team is crucial for shaping the financial performance and positioning of International Operations. The role partners with regional and country leadership to develop and implement pricing and advanced data analytics strategies aimed at optimizing business performance. Key responsibilities also include ensuring robust pricing and new product governance, comprehensive profitability reporting, and the development of advanced financial models. 

Job Duties

  • Strategic Collaboration: partner with regional and country leadership to optimize and support business performance through strategic pricing and advanced data analytics strategies.
  • Profitability Reporting: oversee generation of detailed profitability reports for various product segments. Provide insights and recommendations based on profitability, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Pricing & New Product Governance: ensure pricing and new product proposals adhere to the established policies and processes. Maintain transparency and accountability in pricing and new product introductions.
  • Modeling: guide a team responsible for developing and refining profitability models for various product segments. Collaborate with the Finance organization to enhance financial modeling, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

Plan & Rates Process & Governance

  • Data Analytics & Data Science: utilize data analysis and data science to drive data-oriented business decisions. Expand the use of data analysis tools and methodologies to enhance business results. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies.

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of finance, statistics, accounting and/or financial services.
  • Pricing & New Product Governance: ensure pricing and new product proposals adhere to the established policies and processes. Maintain transparency and accountability in pricing and new product introductions.
  • Advanced knowledge with data mining tools such as SAS, SQL, and PYTHON.
  • Advanced knowledge/understanding of the tools used by Data Science to translate into quantifiable business results.
  • Strong understanding of the sales, finance and credit divisions.
  • Strong working knowledge of dealer and reporting systems.

Skills

  • Ability to work in SAS, SQL, and PYTHON.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply financial and statistical knowledge
  • Effective communication skills including oral, written and presentation.
  • Ability in Excel, Power BI and Cognos.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Strong Collaboration skills

Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor´s Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Finance or Mathematics.
  • 5-7 years of experience managing direct reports.
  • Greater than 10 years of experience reporting and data delivery.
