To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Research Scientist, Advanced Natural Language, to join our Strategic Research team. The person in this role will work on the strategic research team, with the goal of propelling the company to the forefront of technology. The responsibilities of this role include working on strategic research and product technology. The role requires collaborating with industry and academia to advance the company's research and development efforts.

Your impact

As a member of the strategic research team, you will:

• Work on challenging research problems alongside a group of top-notch researchers.
• Effectively utilize unique datasets and computing resources for your research, and collaborate with the product teams to develop cutting-edge products.
• Contribute to the research community by publishing results and participating in conferences and workshops.

• Has deep and broad expertise in modern machine learning methods related to natural language processing.
• Has experience in Deep Learning, LLMs, and/or classical methods.
• Can define the directions and perform strategic breakthrough research that improves life for millions of people.
• Is able to effectively collaborate with other teams at the company and external business and research organizations.
• Has practical skills using modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, HuggingFace, Weights and Biases, and others.

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US and Canada locations are categorized into compensation zones based on each geographic region’s cost of labor index. Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.

United States:

Zone 1: $329,000 – $399,000 (USD)

Zone 2: $254,000 – $359,000 (USD)

Canada:

Zone 1: $279,000 – $361,000 (CAD)
