To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Director, Advanced Natural Language Research, to lead our Strategic Research team. This person will head the strategic research team at Grammarly, with the aim of propelling the company to the forefront of technology. The responsibilities of this role include defining strategic research and product technology and cultivating a culture of innovation among the researchers in the company. The role requires collaboration with industry and academia to advance the company's research and development efforts.

Your impact
As the head of the strategic research team, your responsibilities will include assessing the impact of the team's research outcomes on the company's business performance and research community, attracting top-notch talent to join the team, and promoting team well-being. Additionally, you must possess sound technical judgment to guide your team in making the right technical trade-offs, as well as excellent product and technical instincts to ensure that the team focuses on the most critical projects.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.
United States:
Zone 1: $337,000 - $403,000/year (USD)
Zone 2: $303,000 - $363,000/year (USD)
Zone 3: $286,000 - $343,000/year (USD)
Zone 4: $270,000 - $322,000/year (USD)
Canada:
Zone 1: $289,000 - $372,000/year (CAD)
Zone 2: $246,000 - $316,000/year (CAD)
