Job Description

We are in search of an accomplished and strategic Senior Programmatic Advertising Data Scientist to elevate our team’s capabilities. This role is pivotal in unraveling profound insights from our expansive Big Data environment, steering data-centric decision-making, and optimizing our programmatic advertising strategies. As a senior member, you will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of advanced data science models, utilizing large-scale log-level data in Google BigQuery and Snowflake. This is a senior-level position that offers an exciting opportunity to shape the audience targeting strategies and optimize yield for our publishing initiatives.

What you’ll do:

Strategic Data Management

  • Lead the extraction and transformation of programmatic advertising data from diverse sources such as ad exchanges, DSPs, and SSPs.
  • Architect data pipelines and workflows to uphold impeccable data quality and uniformity.
  • Execute intricate data cleaning and manipulation tasks to meticulously prepare data for in-depth analysis.

Advanced Data Analytics & Modeling

  • Architect and implement sophisticated data science models for comprehensive campaign performance analysis, audience segmentation, and pricing and yield optimization.
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to scrutinize extensive datasets, discerning meaningful trends and patterns.
  • Pioneer the development of advanced metrics and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators and visualize intricate data insights.

Reporting, Data Visualization & Strategic Communication

  • Translate intricate data analyses into actionable insights and recommendations tailored for key stakeholders.
  • Utilize Tableau and/or Google Looker Studio to create visually compelling reports and dashboards that communicate key audience and yield insights to internal teams and top-level leadership.
  • Forge effective collaborations with diverse stakeholders, including programmatic specialists, campaign managers, and data scientists, ensuring a harmonious environment for data-driven decision-making.

Audience Cohort Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive audience segmentation strategies within our Data Management Platform.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics to identify and create meaningful audience cohorts, ensuring effective targeting for our advertising campaigns.
  • Optimize audience cohorts based on performance insights, market trends, and campaign objectives.

DMP Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our Data Management Platform, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources and technologies into the DMP, expanding targeting capabilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of audience cohorts, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Campaign And Yield Optimization

  • Work closely with advertising and marketing teams to align audience cohorts with campaign objectives and target audience profiles.
  • Implement A/B testing and other optimization techniques to enhance targeting precision and campaign yield and effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic insights based on audience analysis to drive decision-making and improve overall campaign performance.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in strategic data analysis, with a distinct preference for expertise within the advertising/marketing domain.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL, encompassing standard knowledge for Google BigQuery and Snowflake, along with proficiency in scripting languages (Python, R).
  • In-depth comprehension of data science concepts and tools, encompassing machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, and proficiency in data visualization libraries.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel, audience modeling, and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising ecosystem, trends, and technologies.
  • Demonstrated robust analytical and problem-solving acumen, coupled with the capability to identify and articulate key insights from intricate datasets.
  • Superlative communication and presentation skills, showcasing the ability to effectively convey technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, exhibiting adeptness in collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with programmatic advertising and knowledge of industry best practices is a strong plus.
