Job Description

The Academia and Technology Liaison will be a member of the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Port Hueneme Division (PHD) team that supports the strategic implementation of ISEA of the Future capabilities through the engagement of academic institutions. Research best practices for partnering and engagement with Universities, professors, and students across the Tech Bridge and Warfare Center networks and ecosystems in order to develop processes and procedures in which technology awareness, adoption, and transition can be deliberate, strategic, and measured. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Collecting and analyzing academia population with potential to contribute to and/or benefit from exchanges of research, technology solutions, and application opportunities.
  • Experience developing statistical models and algorithms to identify patterns and trends in data.
  • Create predictive models to forecast future relational opportunities, paths to success, and quantify outcomes and probabilities.
  • Communicate insights and findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop data driven solutions to operational and business problems.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of models and algorithms to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest development in data science and machine learning techniques.
  • Ability to work both in a team and individually.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Minimum Qualifications

15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Long-term standing in local academic community
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB.
  • Ability to communicate complex mathematical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with mathematical modeling and simulation.
  • Familiarity with advanced mathematical concepts such as topology, differential equations, and abstract algebra.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
