Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, in collaboration with the Partnerships team, you will provide targeted support to entrepreneurs from Mila's Entrepreneurship Lab. Your contribution will support the scientific community regarding the development of innovative companies, in particular their financing, their business model, or their positioning. This role is key in that it aims to promote the product development of Mila start-ups through the provision of communication and management advice, supplemented by market monitoring.

This is a position of 20 hours/week for a period of 3 months.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personalized support and guidance for Mila's entrepreneurs: organize individual consultation sessions to discuss the challenges, opportunities and objectives of entrepreneurs. This may include, but is not limited to, optimizing communication elements, providing assistance with the business model, and/or providing advice.
  • Management of external relations of the Entrepreneurship Lab: take charge of the first contacts of external stakeholders such as investors, accelerators and incubators. Qualify their interest and the relevance of a collaboration.
  • Support for networking Mila entrepreneurs with other stakeholders: proactively identify development verticals within our entrepreneurial community and ensure contact with relevant industries.
  • Force of proposal on programming: propose innovative ideas for events linked to the cohort, promoting the exchange of ideas and networking between entrepreneurs.
  • Strategic monitoring of the creation of technological products: participate in the development of summaries on market trends concerning the application of AI for commercialization purposes, sectoral innovations and best practices.

Profile

  • University degree in finance, business management, entrepreneurship, innovation science, or any training deemed relevant for the creation of a startup (completed or in progress);
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in customer service and/or customer relationship management
  • Be bilingual, in French and English, at an advanced level in writing and speaking, due to the interactions you will have in the context of your employment with some of our partners, stakeholders, or members of our English-speaking academic community ;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business models and identify and produce relevant information or business intelligence research
  • Strong customer focus and ability to build positive relationships with various stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, with a strong sense of initiative;
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial support structure (investment fund, incubator, accelerator) or startup would be an asset;
  • Excellent command of IT tools (Google Suite, Slack);
  • Mastery of a CRM (Hubspot type), an asset.
