Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated software developer to join our team to advance AI and health projects in the Rahimi laboratory. This role involves the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions and the development of innovative software solutions to address complex challenges in healthcare, including solutions targeting chronic disease management, particularly cardiovascular illnesses. The ideal candidate will contribute to a dynamic research environment, supporting the design, development and deployment of data-driven applications and machine learning models to improve patient outcomes.

  • Develop and optimize data pipelines for the integration, cleansing, and transformation of large-scale multimodal health datasets.
  • Design and implement cutting-edge software (e.g., for chronic disease management).
  • Implement, test and validate machine learning (explainable) models, ensuring their reliability and scalability in a clinical context.
  • Work with the team to ensure the highest standards of data privacy and meet regulatory compliance such as HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and provide support to end users.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, maintaining high-quality coding standards.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology trends in AI and healthcare to ensure cutting-edge solutions.
  • Collaborate with clinical experts to translate medical requirements into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers and health professionals.

SKILLS:

  • Master's or doctorate in computer science, biomedical engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of experience in data engineering and software development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ and experience with software development best practices (e.g. version control, continuous integration, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience with machine learning libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and model deployment.
  • Experience working with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and other technologies relevant to software development.
  • Strong experience in algorithm development, statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
