Job Description

Waters Corporation is always looking to hire outstanding future talent for our company. The Business Technology group is looking to hire a Generative AI and Machine Learning intern on a hybrid work schedule out of our Milford, MA office. This internship is a phenomenal opportunity to gain real-world experience while working at the world's leading specialty measurement company. This internship will last approximately ten weeks and the program will commence in the spring/summer of 2024.

Responsibilities

• Leveraging AI/ML to analyze past purchase history of customers, building recommendations that boost e-commerce revenue
• Working with ML models that can be tested and deployed to production
• Developing advanced quantitative models using a variety of programs/software to support predictive assessments.
• Performing multiple forms of advanced analyses, sustainment, optimization, text analytics, machine learning, parametric and non-parametric statistical models, and techniques.
• Build professional relationships and become a trusted technology advisor to leadership, stakeholders, team members and peers
• Build, test, validate and demonstrate analytical models through various relevant error metrics and calibration techniques.
• Apply data and technical expertise in analysis, data mining, and targeted statistical analyses to support data-driven decision-making using Python, R and Advance Excel
• Follow technology trends in data science to build AI/ML models, feature engineering and predictive analysis to support future development roadmap and raise enhancement suggestions to the team (privacy laws, cookie-less tracking, new software etc.)
• Train others on how to leverage data and insights, promoting a culture of digital data literacy
• Conduct background research and exploratory analysis to proactively identify business needs and recommend opportunities for improvement
• Propose innovative solutions that solve complex business problems or improve productivity/efficiency using technology
• Curate and create documentation and reference material
• Support other strategic projects and initiatives as assigned by manager

Qualifications specific to this role:

• 0-1+ years in information technology, data science, analytics, machine learning or related field through academic and/or professional experience
• Actively pursuing a degree at an accredited university or college
• Interest in technology with an understanding of the market and trends
• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, people and processes as well as changing priorities
