We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer - Azure to our team who will be able to bring their unique ideas, viewpoints, and technical experience.

The role will collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and Business partners to define solution design for new projects and ongoing design modifications that may be required for ongoing optimization of the overall ecosystem for Global Wealth and Asset Management

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on leadership and technical guidance in developing batch and real-time data pipelines, DevOps pipelines, and end-to-end processes in Microsoft Azure data and analytics PaaS services.
  • Lead the agile software development process, including roadmap planning, cross-team coordination, task assignments, code reviews, sprint demos, and design review and sign-off.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, collaborating with development teams, architects, and business analysts to ensure alignment to enterprise standards, architecture, and technologies. Deliver modernization of enterprise data solutions using Azure cloud data technologies, designing and building modern data pipelines, data streams, and data service APIs.
  • Develop and maintain data warehouse schematics, layouts, architectures, and relational/non-relational databases for data access and advanced analytics. Expose data to end-users using Power BI, Azure API apps, or other modern visualization platforms.
  • Mentor other staff members and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team and across departments. See opportunities for architectural initiatives and make recommendations to enhance scalability and robustness of platforms and solutions.

What we are looking for

  • 5 years of experience in designing and developing data warehouses and ETL tools, with a focus on Azure Data Engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Databases, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL processes and automation using Azure Data Factory and PySpark.
  • Proficient in preparing data for data science and advanced analytics using Azure ML.
  • Enterprise level experience working with the Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, MapReduce, Spark, Python, Scala, Hive, and Oozie.

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
