Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) is Bank’s destination platform for delivering customer Marketing and Servicing experiences through omni-channel journeys. The Bank Marketing Technology team is seeking a seasoned Marketing Technology product owner to support and enhance the capabilities for the Bank’s use of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and will be responsible for gathering requirements and developing/maintaining a prioritized backlog of feature enhancements for our Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance, working closely with both Marketing and Engineering Teams in an agile environment. As a primary focus the product owner will partner with multi-disciplinary teams (marketing strategy, technology, design, creative,etc) to incorporate new channels and features within our SFMC ecosystem to continuously deliver a best-in-class, personalized experience that increases customer interaction and conversion with bank products and features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand proposed Marketer campaign intent and utilize your marketing expertise to advise and lead the product strategy for SFMC, including overall campaign design, configuration, and execution best practices across all core marketing channels including email, display, direct mail, SMS and social
  • Manage and prioritize a backlog of new capabilities including new channel implementation, feature enhancements, SFMC module pilots and Engineering-mandated requests
  • Develop and implement a core data philosophy within the SFMC ecosystem to enable well-managed consumption of relevant data attributes while ensuring compliance with Enterprise data security standards
  • Find the right tone for engaging both Engineering and Marketing partners and clearly articulate strategies, requirements, details and trade-offs between the two to achieve
  • Work with Engineering partners to enable new integrations and to drive open issues to closure
  • Evaluate new capabilities and share POV from business and technology integration aspects
  • Collaborate with enterprise partners to bring to life new initiatives in a win win fashion
  • Interface directly with internal Marketing users and leaders to understand their needs and help create/deliver effective SFMC capabilities
  • Use an industry and competitive lens to continually position Capital One as a leader in marketing orchestration
  • Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate around agile delivery, with the goal of delivering breakthrough consumer experiences

  • Understanding of core SFMC modules such as Email Studio, Advertising Studio, and JourneyBuilder
  • Analytical problem solver who can clearly identify, analyze, and resolve issues as they arise

  • Ability to lead while under pressure, as well as being highly responsive to business needs
  • Results focused: Outcome oriented with a can do attitude and passion for maintaining well-managed processes while driving to successful resolutions
  • Is “hands on” in the solution and is comfortable engaging in technical conversations with Engineering Teams
  • Someone who loves to come up with new ideas and has a passion for innovation
  • Can adapt to an iterative build out mind-set where full capabilities of SFMC will be rolled out over time
  • Is able to interpret and translate metrics into insightful analysis to drive changes to campaign setup

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 6 years of experience working as a technology-focused Product Owner
  • At least 2 years of experience working in Marketing Technology
  • At least 2 years of experience with web analytics platforms and visualization tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Data Studio, Tableau)
  • At least 2 years of experience using Agile or Iterative delivery methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • At least 4 years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • SFMC Specialist or Administrator certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in leveraging personalization and optimization tools and methodologies (Adobe Target, Google Optimize, Optimizely)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site):

$160,200 - $182,800 for Graduate Product Development Program

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
