Responsibilities:

• Counsel across a broad range of litigation and regulatory matters, including intellectual property and commercial disputes and litigation as well as regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
• Manage and collaborate with outside counsel across all stages of litigation, from discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
• Stay up to date on relevant laws, regulations, industry trends, and disseminate to key stakeholders these developments and their implications to Anthropic’s mission and business.
• Develop internal processes, policies, and tools to support litigation and regulatory matters efficiently and at scale.
• Work with cross-functional teams to collect pertinent information, evaluate risk, and formulate legal approaches to resolve disputes.

Strong candidates will also:

• Have JD and active bar membership (California preferred).
• Have 7+ years legal experience, with at least 5 years managing high-volume in-house litigation and regulatory matters.
• Have a deep substantive knowledge in litigation procedure and regulatory response.
• Have strong organizational skills.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Be a motivated self-starter able to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Have authentic integrity and a deep understanding of the importance of ethics in business.

Annual Salary (USD)

• The expected salary range for this position is $275k - $350k USD.

Logistics

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect this position to be in office at least 75% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits*

Anthropic’s compensation package consists of three elements: salary, equity, and benefits. We are committed to pay fairness and aim for these three elements collectively to be highly competitive with market rates.

Equity - On top of this position's salary (listed above), equity will be a major component of the total compensation. We aim to offer higher-than-average equity compensation for a company of our size, and communicate equity amounts at the time of offer issuance.
