Job Description

The Novelis Digital Center of Excellence Data Science team is seeking a Lead MLOps Developer based in Atlanta. The Lead Developer will support the Sr. Manager, Data Science & Insights and will be the subject matter expert in the area of MLOps. This role will focus on a multi-year companywide initiative called “Plant of the Future”. This initiative is designed to generate business value through implementation of various Industry 4.0 technologies including (but not limited to) Machine Learning, Computer Vision and MLOps etc. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying various types of ML and AI models to production, building automated model performance tracking, and CI/CD pipelines for model retraining. The Lead MLOps Developer will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and DevOps engineers to ensure the successful deployment and management of ML models.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and maintain various types of ML and AI models in production including model performance tracking and CI/CD pipelines for model retraining
• Develop standards and best practices for MLOps discipline and ensure consistency to these standards
• Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and DevOps engineers to ensure successful deployment and management of AI/ML models
• Develop and maintain MLOps related infrastructure
• Stay abreast of current and emerging technologies to support new concept development, including emerging machine learning, data management, and AI capabilities with the real-time implementation of AI/ML software
• Mentor and train junior MLOps developers

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science or a related field
• 5 years of experience in MLOps including understanding of container technology, Kubernetes, Restful API and other various model deployment techniques and model performance measurement in production
• Deep expertise in Python Machine Learning and AI frameworks such as Scikit-learn and PyTorch and Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes, DevOps, Databricks, MLFlow, IoT Hub & Edge
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• This role may need to travel both domestically within the US and internationally for 10-15% of the times.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in deploying Digital artifacts in a manufacturing setting including an understanding of IT and OT infrastructures and standards
• Proven ability to transcend the IT-OT divide through innovative MLOps solutions
