Job Title: Data Scientist

Job Duties:

Provide advanced data analytics expertise as member of analytics group during projects of diverse scope and work closely with stakeholders to deliver data-driving strategies that guide business decisions. Duties include:

  • Develop and implement analytics enabled solutions to improve business processes, generate insights, and support business goals and strategy development for sales and distribution;
  • Refine statistical and machine learning models using advanced algorithms such as natural language processing, experimental design and survival modeling, and leverage findings to offer strategic business insights and guidance;
  • Discover creative ways to source and use data to support modeling efforts utilizing structured and unstructured data and big data technologies;
  • Handle data sets from disparate sources using appropriate engineering methodologies, computational frameworks and cloud-based systems; and
  • Pilot and integrate models into existing systems and processes, monitor model performance and identify future enhancement opportunities.

Telecommuting permitted within Boston metropolitan area.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics or related field and 3 years of data analytics experience.

Experience must include:

  • 3 years data analysis experience using Python, R, SQL and SAS;
  • 3 years of data engineering, data management, data transformation and data manipulation experience using Apache Spark, Hive and Hadoop;
  • 3 years of experience using data visualization tools including Rshiny, Plotly, Flask, Javascript and Power BI;
  • 3 years of modeling experience using GLM, Bayesian modeling, survival modeling and experimental design;
  • 3 years of experience using machine learning engineering tools including Pytest, Flake8, Sonar and Azure cloud platform;
  • 2 years of experience developing probabilistic models, data mining and machine learning algorithms including model development validation, testing and implementation.

Experience may be gained concurrently.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Salary range is expected to be between

$83,440.00 USD - $154,960.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
