Job Description

  • We are a multi-disciplinary team of researchers investigating the nature of human neuromotor signals, developing novel signal processing and machine learning methods to infer a user’s intent, and creating novel interaction techniques and user experiences. Help us unleash human potential by removing the bottlenecks between user intent and action.

    Research Scientist, Neural Interfaces (PhD) Responsibilities

    • Design methods, tools and infrastructure to analyze and leverage rich multimodal data sets.
    • Help transition algorithms and metrics from research into production.
    • Analyze and develop metrics for deep learning models and experimental datasets
    • Design experiments, involving human participants, to assess model performance.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Prior experience with Meta can be considered to supplement an applicant’s prior years of experience or types of prior experience to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
    • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics, or related field.
    • Programming experience in Python and hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch.
    • Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications.
    • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
    • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, ACL, and ICASSP).
    • Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
    • Experience bringing machine learning-based products from research to production.

    $116,000/year to $168,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

     Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
