We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team as the lead for our Database team. As the Project Manager for the Database team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the activities of data engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of database-related projects. This position offers opportunities to contribute to the growth and evolution of our organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Required Skills:

  • Project Management for Database Development and Maintenance.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies. Strong understanding of database design, development, and optimization.
  • Ability to work closely with data engineers and other stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Resolve inter-team and intra-team conflicts, and promptly address impediments to ensure smooth project progress.
  • Implement processes and policies related to database development and maintenance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a servant leader for the Database team, creating an environment that promotes efficiency, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Establish and maintain strong communication channels between the Database team and other teams, including Product Owners, Developers, and Stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for the Database team.
  • Manage the database development projects using Agile methodologies, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to refine and prioritize the database backlog for upcoming sprints. Proactively identify and address risks and impediments related to database projects, utilizing company resources for swift resolution.
  • Track and maintain metrics related to the Database team's performance, providing visibility into productivity, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach team members on Agile practices and principles, promoting a culture of learning and adaptability. Ensure the correct application of Agile and Lean principles in database development practices.
  • Collaborate with the IT and other relevant departments to facilitate the removal of impediments and enhance overall project efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a project management role within an Agile environment. Proven experience identifying gaps in Agile practices within a team and leading the adoption of new practices.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring cross-functional teams, including data engineers, QA, and other relevant roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of database design, development, and optimization principles.
  • Experience in Agile engineering practices, such as continuous delivery, test-driven development (TDD), and refactoring, is preferred.
  • Adept at evaluating team performance and providing transparent feedback using key performance indicators.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare IT domain is a plus.
  • Close collaboration with client services to ensure alignment with support tickets SLAs and identify opportunities for improvement in the database development process.
