What you will be doing:

  • Research and develop advanced AI technologies to improve our core ML/CV algorithms and to solve sport analysis problems in a practical and scalable way. Our research focus includes (but is not limited to) the following:
  • Computer vision (object detection, camera calibration, tracking, re-identification, motion capture, activity detection, activity prediction, etc.)
  • Sequence modeling, time series modeling and prediction, probabilistic models
  • General deep learning topics including self-supervised learning, transfer learning, few-shot learning, active learning, generative models and graph neural networks, attention based models (transformers)
  • Collaborating with engineering team and product managers to produce quality AI software solutions as well as reviewing the team’s code and experiments to provide insightful feedback
  • Conducting original, publishable research, to be presented at conferences and contributing to the company’s IP portfolio

What you’ll need:

  • PhD degree in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, or a related quantitative field with research and development experience in computer vision and machine learning
  • Experience with full CV/ML life-cycle from model development, training, testing, deployment, monitoring, and refining and iterating
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., Pytorch or Tensorflow)
  • Solid programming skills in Python or C/C++ and familiarity with software development best practices
  • Strong publication record in computer vision, machine learning and deep learning in top tier conferences and journals
  • Ability to develop large-scale systems working with video/image data
  • Strong working knowledge of software architecture and data structure

What you will do:

Work in the research and development of cutting-edge technologies to enhance our machine learning and computer vision algorithms. This will solve sports data analysis problems in a practical and measurable way. The research will focus on:

  • Computer vision (object detection, camera calibration, automatic tracking, motion capture, motion detection, motion prediction, etc.);
  • Sequence modeling, forecasting and time series modeling, probabilistic models;
  • Several topics related to deep learning (self-supervised learning, transfer learning, learning with few attempts or examples, active learning, generative models, graph neural networks, the modeling of attention mechanisms, what we call transformers .
  • Collaborate with the engineering team and production managers to create high-quality artificial intelligence software;
  • Evaluate the experiments carried out by the team as well as the codes created by this same team to provide constructive feedback;
  • Conduct innovative research whose results could be published or presented at conferences and added to the intellectual property directory maintained by Sportlogiq.

You will need:

A doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, quantitative research or any related field AND experience in research and development in the field of machine learning and computer vision;

  • Experience on all stages of tool design in the field of machine learning and computer vision:
  • Starting from the development of the initial model, through training, experiments, deployment, supervision, finishing and until the reiteration of the process;
  • Experience with deep learning systems (for example: Pytorch or Tensorflow);
  • Excellent programming skills in C/C++ and knowledge of best practices in software development;
  • To have published several articles on computer vision, machine learning and deep learning. And this, in recognized and prestigious publications;
  • The ability to develop large-scale systems, systems that will work from visual data;
  • Great knowledge of software structure and data structure;
  • Excellent ability to express yourself in French and English.
