Job Description

The Powertrain Test Center conducts tests to qualify thermal engines and electric vehicle drivetrains. These tests are subsequently analyzed by various individuals based on the desired analysis levels and the specificity of the conducted test. In the context of evolving products and test facilities, we need to improve our processes and digital tools. In this context, and with the aim of improving the efficiency of our tests, the assigned missions will be :

  • Identify possibilities and opportunities with Office365 solutions.
  • Investigate current processes and suggest improvements.
  • Develop an application using no-code tools based on office365 Power Platform.
  • Develop tests to ensure quality and reliability of the tool.
  • Develop visuals to analyze process efficiency and share data across organizations.
  • Connect worldwide with other Volvo sites to share results.

 Internship length: 3-6 months

 Profile :

Bachelor student in computer science, information systems, data science or industrial engineering.

Skills :

  • Knowledge of Office365 tools (PowerAutomate, PowerApps, …)
  • General knowledge in database management
  • Basic Knowledge of at least one data visualisation tool (PowerBI, ...)
  • Basic knowledge of powertrain systems
  • Curiosity, Autonomy, Proactivity

Our team :

You will join the Test Development team, consisting of around ten individuals responsible for managing test equipment development projects, measurement tools, overseeing entity investments, and supporting the Maintenance and Test Operations departments.

You will be supervised by a data engineer in the team.

Powertrain Engineering Lyon: the engine testing and drivetrain testing center of this PE. Lyon entity and its teams are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the development of test and measurement equipment, while adhering to the quality, cost, and schedule agreements negotiated with the requester, and the various standards and legislative requirements applicable to the activity field.
  • Conducting test campaigns to meet project needs.
  • Providing expertise in metallic and non-metallic materials.
