Job Title - Credit Underwriter

Job type - Full-time

Location - Bangalore, Mumbai India

• Conduct detailed research on the financial history of individuals (and/or businesses) to determine their creditworthiness and make high level decisions on loan application process.
• Review and verify income statements, tax returns and other financial documents to develop a borrower's profile and arrive at a credit recommendation.
• Conduct telephonic discussions and risk assessments on potential applicants based on previous borrowing history, credit rating, industry experience and other factors
• Work closely with loan officers and assist them with verifying the accuracy of loan applications.
• Develop and implement policies & procedures. Collaborate with team members and upper management to establish guidelines and best practices.
• Conduct quality control audits and prepare monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports.

Desired Skills

• Strong financial acumen and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting theories, credit principles, lending functions, loan research and general credit policies.
• In-depth understanding of Personal Loan product
• Analytical thinking and attention to details
• Good communication skills

Work Experience

• Work experience of 3 or more years in similar profile with NBFC/Banks/Fin-tech Lending Institutions
