Job Description

Kemper Auto is seeking a Market Analyst, to work out of our Kemper office in Chicago, IL, or remotely. Work as a member of the Advanced Analytics team, by using data research/analytics to provide insights to help achieve profitable growth for auto and home insurance products. Create reports for leadership and consult on projects across the business, assisting in automation and business strategy driven by analytics.

Position Responsibilities:

• Collect and clean different types of data sources (SQL, Excel, SAS, etc.) ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Analyze data and collaborate with leadership and technical teams to generate actionable insights for decision making
• Present complex analyses in a clear and actionable manner; provide solution strategy and make best practice recommendations to various levels of management
• Implement a higher level of thinking – are we using the correct metrics for the asked question? Can we design an experiment and analyze the results to determine customer behavior? Ask questions and utilize advanced statistical techniques (Python, R, machine learning techniques, etc.) to assist in acquiring profitable business
• Pass on your knowledge – train others across the company in your skillset and collaborate with a multitude of teams, from product managers to data scientists

Position Qualifications:

• Analytics experience required
• Insurance experience preferred but not required
• Experience/interest in statistical and business analysis
• Education equivalent to a college degree in mathematics, statistics, risk management, business, data analytics, actuarial studies or related fields, or the equivalent in related work experience
• Experience in SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, and/or other data and statistical tools required
• Automation, modeling, and machine learning skills recommended
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface at all levels of the organization
• Superb relationship-building and interpersonal skills

The range for this position is $59,400 to $104,000. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
