In this context, our RD/EES2 department (Software Development for Powertrain and Electric Drives II) is responsible for developing the basic and application software for inverter control units for electric drive systems.

Among other things, we focus on the research and development of thermal models in order to exploit the maximum potential of the electric powertrain. In this environment, you will be involved in the following tasks during your internship:

  • Creating an evaluation process for the thermal models of the electric machine as well as the power electronics.
  • Big Data: Systematic evaluation of vehicle measurement data
  • Participation in the development and implementation of temperature models in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Benchmark analysis of various temperature models
  • Documentation of the results
  • Collaboration with the team in day-to-day operations

Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering or a comparable course of study
  • Sound knowledge and systemic overall understanding of electrical drive components
  • Knowledge of power electronics and electrical machines
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics desirable
  • Sound programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Confident written and spoken German and English skills
  • Confident handling of MS Office
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team
