The Senior Data Engineer role, you will be instrumental in supporting the information flows timely and accurately to and from external and as well as within core systems. As a successful Senior Data Engineer will bring forth a strong understanding of databases and data analysis procedures. You are a highly technical SQL expert with strong critical thinking skills and excellent troubleshooting capabilities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, Build and scale data orchestration, technical design, data integration services, pipelines using various data sources, formats into Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
  • Collaborate with Data Warehouse analysts, data users to perform data analysis and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Perform Data conversion, Quality and Verification activities. Perform SQL tuning for PL/SQL procedures, Views, BI reports, etc.,
  • Contribute to new data products, services such as curated data sets and machine learning services.
  • Provide guidance on data architecture for tables, views, indices, caching strategies, etc. to help improve performance.
  • Data Quality - Identifies, understands, and corrects flaws in data that supports effective information governance across operational business processes and decision making.
  • Be an integral part of a scrum team in a challenging environment; be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on the team's needs and priorities.
  • Design a Data Pipeline processes and its code that is tested, scalable, extendable, and performant.
  • Define and manage SLAs for datasets that support production services, job monitoring, and data issue resolution.
  • Evaluate modern technologies and integrate them into our current infrastructure.
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics/Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or other Physical Science required; Advance degree and/or certification considered in lieu of work experience.
  • 6 years experience in database development (Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, AWS)
  • Good understanding of database theory and practice (ETL, OLTP, OLAP, DataVault And Star Schema design patterns)
  • Understand business requirements around analytic data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with other parts of the organization
  • Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
  • Design, implement and maintain ETL processes for our analytic data.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies and apply them to what we are building.
  • Financial/Mortgage Industry Experience a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • 6+ years of work experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and meta data driven approach.
  • Exceptional understanding of data administration and management functions such as collection, analysis, and distribution.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, data design patterns and star schemas.
  • Familiarity with data consumption, reporting and data visualization techniques.
  • Have previously built real-time, event driven frameworks, and batch data pipelines using various tools. 
  • 2 years of work experience in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Delivery) i.e., DevOps, Jenkins.
  • You have an analytical mindset and strong critical thinking skills.
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Initiative-taking and self-managing, with strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of version control software, i.e., GIT

Additional Qualifications:

  • Business Analytics.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts.
  • Reporting dashboard development experience.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark/EMR/Hive/Presto and data warehouse technologies such as Redshift, Snowflake, ElasticSearch.
  • Non-SQL programming experience (R, Python, Java, C, C++, Spark, Graph, etc.).

Education, Certifications and Prior Work-Related Experience:

  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Degree Preferred: Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Work Experience: 6 or more years of prior work experience

  • Competitive Compensation: anticipated base salary from $95,000 to $156,000 based on skills and experience. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
