The position

Our summer internship is a 12-week programme designed to provide the experience and skills you need in your studies and future career. Our US internship will begin on 28 May and ends on 16 August 2024.

Summer interns in Subsurface: Geosciences disciplines will join our Subsurface Technology Networks at Equinor within traditional Oil & Gas as well as our Low Carbon Solution value chains. 

Our summer interns will work on multiple tasks across the business. Work tasks may vary according to your competence profile, assignment and business needs. You will be involved in exciting and challenging tasks related to: 

  • Basin, Play & Petroleum System Analysis
  • Prospect Evaluation & Maturation 
  • Well Planning and Operations 
  • Reservoir evaluation, characterization and modelling / simulation 
  • Production optimisation and prognoses
  • Data analytics & digitalisation 

New times require new ways of working, and multidisciplinary teamwork and programming have increased focus in our daily work. The challenge for you will be to help develop Equinor in a changing energy landscape. 

You

  • Currently studying for Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or Ph.D. with a strong academic record within Geosciences, (Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysics) and other Natural/Earth Sciences. Other scientific lines of University study including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Data Science and Geography will also be considered
  • Fluent in English and preferably a second working language.
  • No more than two years of relevant full-time work experience.
  • Have completed at least two years of bachelor education before the internship programme starts (28 May 2024).
  • Candidates must live in a state where Equinor currently operates.
  • Candidates must have the necessary work permit for the country in which they are applying for a position. The work permits must be valid at the point of application and for the duration of the employment.   • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work are an advantage.
