Want to help Argonne fight climate change, make our nation’s critical infrastructures more resilient, contribute to multiple scientific frontiers, and control your own destiny as a cybersecurity and AI researcher? In this role, you’ll team up with world-class subject matter experts to use cutting edge artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to build systems that protect critical infrastructure systems from cyber threats and manage other risks to our national security. You’ll get to work on some of the biggest and fastest supercomputers in the world, and directly contribute to the missions of the Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and other federal sponsors. You’ll leverage cybersecurity, computer science, software engineering, and math to design models, simulations, data pipelines, testbeds, and work towards field deployments to make a real difference. You’ll also get to publish in respected journals and pursue funding for your own research ideas along the way.
Assists in developing automated cyber defense capabilities for the purposes of protecting energy grid and other industrial control systems. Makes technical contributions in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to implement new capabilities for prototype systems, as well as help design and implement validation and demonstration strategies to enable transitions to industry. Participates in research activities including developing ideas, identifying publishing opportunities, and writing articles. Responsibilities include assisting on all phases of projects and research activities as well as writing proposals and reporting the status and results of projects and research.
This role can be performed onsite, remotely, or a hybrid of the two.
