What you will do:

• Work with product management and engineering teams on technical design and implementation of solutions to NLP (natural language processing) problems
• Mentor and guide engineers junior engineers and interns
• Define and evangelize best practices and coding standards
• Conduct code reviews
• Deliver features all the way from the design, to the implementation, to the deployment
• Collaborate with other members of a cross-functional team in a modern agile environment
• This is a hybrid position requiring occasional work in our Somerville, MA office

What you will bring:

• 7+ years experience in Java development
• Hands-on development experience with current open source tools and technologies (Java, Spring, MySQL, Maven, Git, Jenkins, ActiveMQ)
• Experience with relational databases required
• Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search applications a plus
• Knowledge of computational linguistics and/or NLP a plus
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes/containers a plus
• Familiarity with git/CI-CD systems a plus
• Experience working with a team to deliver software
• Experience with agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and/or SAFe
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
• A passion to design, build and polish innovative applications
