We offer internships in 15 departments including Capital Markets, Construction, Development, Financial Planning & Analysis, Investments, IT, Leasing, Property Management, Marketing and more.

Link is looking for actively enrolled juniors (rising seniors) who would be interested in a data science & energy internship on our Sustainability team this upcoming summer. Summer interns will have the opportunity to become exposed to several markets and properties across the industrial spectrum and can expect to have close interaction with a tight-knit team.

The Energy Data & Analytics Summer Intern will be responsible for supporting the Sustainability Team with the oversight of sustainability-related reporting, data management, and project monitoring. This position will be exposed to all facets of Sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help establish and monitor workstreams related to data analytics related to energy and utilities, using advanced data science tools and techniques to gain insights into energy consumption patterns, power markets, and other key metrics. This will involve working with large datasets and implementing algorithms to uncover trends and patterns in the data.
  • Assist with data integration from public and private datasets onto Link’s data platform while using data cleaning and transformation techniques to ensure that the data is clean and reliable. The intern will also help document the data integration process and ensure that the data is easily accessible by the team
  • Assist with driving data science methodologies towards the development of internal tools and dashboards that provide insights into sustainability metrics, energy consumption, and other key performance indicators. This will involve working with the Sustainability team to identify key metrics and develop customized tools and dashboards that provide real-time insights into sustainability performance
  • Help develop scalable solutions for data management and acquisition from utilities, electricity meters and other sources. This will involve working with the Sustainability team to identify data sources, designing data management systems, and implementing tools and techniques for data acquisition and processing.
  • Support with data testing, manipulation and gap analysis directly related to periodic ESG reporting

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current junior (rising senior) undergraduate/graduate student at an accredited institution
  • Pursuing a degree in sustainability, energy engineering, data science, civil engineering, or related field
  • Strong interest in sustainability or renewable energy (no formal experience required)
  • Basic understanding of renewables, clean energy technologies, energy markets and trading, climate risk assessment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Advanced programming proficiency (SQL, VBA, Python or R)
  • Analytics and dashboarding experience (PowerBI, Tableau, etc)
  • Basic experience with data science libraries (Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, Pandas)
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills since interaction with senior level management will be required
  • Must currently be actively enrolled for consideration of internship

$30/hour represents the presently anticipated base compensation pay range for this position at Link. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
