As the Vice President, Data Platform Manager at Link, you will transform the Data Platform. You will define and drive the technology strategy, in partnership with business leaders and key stakeholders across multiple business lines. The goal of the Data Platform is to be a high-quality source of truth supporting all lines of business, enabling multiple applications, as well as reporting, analytics and data science. You will manage the evolution of the platform as additional sources of data are required and technology components (e.g., machine learning) are matured.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage program and project teams to optimize delivery against resources across project initiatives; 
  • Work closely with project sponsors, project managers and cross-functional teams to plan and deliver scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget and timing for new initiatives;
  • Collaborate with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department; 
  • Develop and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives; 
  • Contributing ideas to product development initiatives;
  • Planning and managing product development stages; 
  • Collaborating with system engineers and software architects; 
  • Reporting product development progress to senior managers; 
  • Ensuring that products are delivered on time and within budget; 
  • Overseeing product deployment and integration; 
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues; 
  • Evaluating product performance metrics and facilitating adjustments; 
  • Documenting processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Data Platform Management 

  • Oversee the management and operation of the data platform; 
  • Define the data platform visions and roadmap;
  • Manage an ecosystem of applications to solve our business challenges and ensure the seamless flow of information throughout the platform; 
  • Engage with business stakeholders to create and manage a demand management process that equitably handles competing priorities across business teams; 
  • Define and manage OKRs that build confidence in the platform and ensure the platform meets the needs and goals of the business.

Stakeholder Management 

  • Engage with business leaders as their trusted advisor; 
  • Develop partnerships with key stakeholders and business owners across all components of the platform; 
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with the Link Technology and Product teams. 

Project Delivery 

  • Oversee the development of business cases, user requirements, and project charters; 
  • Create and manage processes to prioritize projects, plan releases, and manage resources across a portfolio of projects; 
  • Create and manage processes for testing, release management, and change control;
  • Manage communications with stakeholders, project team, and business and IT management.

Technology Operations 

  • Work closely with Architects, and Analytics Team to ensure data models have been developed in accordance with business needs for use across multiple lines of business;
  • Manage integrations with the Data Platform and external products and platforms; 
  • Work closely with data engineers to build data monitoring solutions to track errors, exceptions, and failure during data transport; 
  • Develop and manage metrics to ensure that the platform exceeds business expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research or similar). 
  • 15+ years in business intelligence and/or data analytics and 10+ years experience in a leadership or management role. 
  • Experience in a high-growth enterprise technology environment is advantageous.
  • Experience with ETL process, data modelling, data architecture, data analysis and reactive systems. 
  • Experience with predictive modelling/data science is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience working with Snowflake and RabbitMQ.
  • Expertise with relational databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL). 
  • Coding experience with either Python or R. 
  • Proven experience in a greenfield environment, building infrastructure, data architecture and a data warehouse to support data analytics and business intelligence teams. 
  • Experience structuring unstructured datasets, building data models and preparing data in a clean format for data science, analytics and business intelligence teams. 
  • Proven track record of hiring, managing and retaining top-performing data engineering professionals and having lead teams of at least 15+ people.
  • Experience with data visualizations dashboards. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to confidently translate key insights to C-suite stakeholders.

$235,000 - $255,000 represents the presently anticipated base compensation pay range for this position at Link. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
