This position requires a current US Department of Defense or Intelligence SECRET or TS/SCI clearance. As a Senior Software Engineering Lead - Federal, you will lead project technical teams delivering the Yurts platform to US Government clients. You will be responsible for end-to-end deployment and optimization of the platform, including the backend (primarily in Python) and front-end (JavaScript) as well as integration into client mission systems. Your expertise in coding and architecture will be instrumental in delivering and optimizing our capability to meet the needs of our clients. You will closely collaborate with our product team to communicate client and end user requirements back to internal teams, inform our development roadmap, and improve the Yurts product offering. You will own integration with client mission systems, including authentication, APIs, and front end. Additionally, your experience in supporting production systems and debugging challenges in distributed systems will be critical for ensuring the reliability and stability of our applications.

Responsibilities:

• Lead project teams delivering our Generative AI capability to federal government clients. Own technical delivery success on those projects.
• Present progress and outcomes to client non-technical leadership.
• Coordinate with client and partner technical teams to accelerate delivery, optimize deployment, mitigate risks, and remove blockers.
• Collaborate with Design and Product teams and others in our product team to address user requirements and craft features that enhance the user experience.
• Participate in the building, delivery, and maintenance of enterprise products, ensuring they meet high-quality standards.
• Continuously improve and iterate on features to deliver value to clients.
• Take ownership of your work, from design to implementation and maintenance, and drive projects to successful completion.
• Focus primarily on backend development using Python, while having a working knowledge of front-end technologies to enable seamless integration.
• Support production systems, handling debugging challenges in distributed systems to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Embrace a growth mindset, picking up new languages and technologies as needed.
• This position may require travel.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• An active US Department of Defense or Intelligence SECRET clearance, with a willingness to upgrade to TS/SCI if needed.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of delivering enterprise products.
• Experience leading technical teams that delivered solutions to US Federal Government customers.
• Proficient in backend development using Python.
• Proficient in front-end development using JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
• Exceptional coding skills and a passion for creating high-quality software.
• Experience with authentication using Keycloak, preferably with experience integrating with DoD/IC authentication frameworks (CAC and SIPR token key management, PKI keys, or similar).
• Experience with iterative development processes, thriving in dynamic and agile environments.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to own collaboration with clients, partner vendors, end users, and cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable supporting production systems and debugging challenges in distributed systems.
• Growth mindset with the ability to pick up new languages and technologies as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• An active US Department of Defense or Intelligence TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience delivering ML solutions to customers is a plus.
• Experience with LLMs and Generative AI technologies is a plus.
