About this opportunity

Within Cognitive Software Engineering, you will be working with groundbreaking technology (5G, Automation & Cloud computing) to leverage the power of AI/ML and to develop state of the art software for network design and optimization services.

As part of our commitment to nurturing future talent, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist Intern to join our organization.

You will work closely with our experienced data science team to review and integrate AI models and algorithms. You will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, machine learning, and AI techniques, while contributing to the development of cutting-edge software solutions.

This internship will provide valuable exposure to real-world projects and an opportunity to learn from industry experts.

You’ll get the opportunity to

  • Collaborate with the data science team & software engineers to analyze and understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Lead the integration of AI models into software applications and ensure their proper functionality.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, data preprocessing, and feature engineering to prepare data for modeling tasks.
  • Review and experiment with different machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.
  • Train, validate, and fine-tune machine learning models using relevant programming languages and frameworks.
  • Evaluate and interpret the performance of AI models using appropriate evaluation metrics and statistical methods for various software projects.
  • Document and present findings, insights, and recommendations to the data science team and project stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in AI, machine learning, and data science techniques.
  • Contribute to team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge sharing activities to foster a collaborative learning environment.

Key skills

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental concepts in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python.
  • Familiarity with popular machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members spread across the globe.
  • Fluent English is a must, written and spoken
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a passion for AI, machine learning, and data science.
  • Previous experience or coursework in AI, machine learning, or data science is a plus.
