Job Description

As a Data Science Intern, you would look at datasets from the business, analyze them by performing data mining and feature engineering to build machine learning models that meet the needs of the business. Building visualizations are an integral part of the job responsibilities.

What you will do

• Data Collection and Cleaning: Collect, clean, and preprocess datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and usability.
• Exploratory Data Analysis: Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and trends within the data, presenting findings using data visualization tools.
• Model Development: Assist in developing machine learning and statistical models to solve business problems, leveraging tools such as Python, R, or other relevant languages.
• Feature Engineering: Collaborate with the team to engineer meaningful features from raw data to improve model performance.
• Model Evaluation: Evaluate and validate models using appropriate metrics and methodologies to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of data sources, methodologies, and code to facilitate knowledge sharing and future replication.

You will bring

• Education: Currently enrolled in a Masters degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data science, such as Python or R.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for working with data.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey findings and insights to team members and stakeholders.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and willingness to learn from others.
• Tools: Familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau) is a plus.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as scikit learn
