WHAT WE DO

  • The Rockstar Analytics team provide insights and actionable results to a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization in support of their decision making.
  • We partner with multiple departments across the company to design and implement data and pipelines.
  • We collaborate as a global team to develop cutting-edge data pipelines, data products, data models, reports, analyses, and machine learning applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with members of Development, Game, Social Club, Publishing and Live Ops teams to execute data governance best practices at Rockstar.
  • Take a major role in the adoption of an enterprise-wide data governance technology platform, with a focus on improvement of data quality/accessibility and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to develop and continually assess work processes to identify opportunities to automate, minimize error, and maximize productivity, as well as develop tools to monitor for compliance to standards.
  • Develop strategies to enable teams to efficiently input and analyze data received from internal and external sources to ensure accurate and validated data is available for decision making.
  • Partner with Data Architecture to set strategy for feeds and data sharing with internal and external teams. Ensure information on what data/reports is available is easily available to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Business Analysts on the development of a taxonomy across the Game team and establishes strategies around metadata management and data quality.
  • Help build and execute a strategy for knowledge manager. Drive constant improvements in data quality, governance and knowledge discoverability via a non-invasive strategy.
  • Own processes around several data tools and programs, including Tableau, data quality, Alation (Data Management), and data governance.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and trends in the data space.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of work experience in data strategy, governance, and acquisition.
  • 3+ years data modeling and architecture experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding of GDPR, CCPA, VCDPA and other customer protection and privacy policies applicable in the e-commerce industries.
  • Passion for driving business value through the use of high-quality data and advocacy for the value of data as an asset.

SKILLS

  • Excellent project management and presentation skills, and able to quickly generate a breadth of documentation from training materials to C-suite presentations.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate at all levels, including technical ones.
  • Experience in an agile fast-paced video game or technology environment.
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies, on-prem and in the cloud such as Tableau, Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, and Hive.
  • Experience in development and implementation of a Data governance strategy for managing high quality structured, semi structured and unstructured data (images, videos) across on-prem as well as public cloud deployments.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership with data governance, quality, stewardship, ontologies, taxonomies, etc.

  • Working experience with Alation.
  • MBA or other related graduate-level degree is desired.
  • Proven experience in establishing a successful non-invasive data governance strategy.
  • Experience working in the Game industry.
