Job Description

Purpose

  • Apply deep analytical skills to help Hyundai/Genesis Motor America identify and substantiate product quality and customer satisfaction improvements. This position’s insight will reduce time to actionable insight that ultimately helps the brand be the best in the industry. Positioned within the Product Quality Data Team, this role will use advanced knowledge to prioritize Hyundai/Genesis branded work to further improve Hyundai/Genesis product quality in addition to increasing brand recognition in syndicated studies.

Major Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage sales/syndicated study forecasts for the Hyundai/Genesis brand. This will allow for better IQS, VDS, and CR forecasts in addition to 5 year projections.
  • Manage product quality dealer KPIs for Hyundai/Genesis dealers for targeting and segmentation.
  • Analyze and discover insights from Hyundai/Genesis dealer service experience surveys.
  • Oversee, manage and maintain ad hoc analysis dashboards in PQMSv3.2 for the Hyundai/Genesis brand.
  • Develop an analytical process for continually monitoring the Hyundai/Genesis brand’s Consumer Reports standing in Reliability, Owner Satisfaction, and Overall rankings.
  • Apply deep analytical skills to blend, process, and explore complex datasets for the Product Quality department to aid in knowledge discovery, BI-reporting, and predictive modeling activities.
  • Perform and manage root-cause analysis, survival analysis, time series forecasting and other analytical activities.
  • Create and own the team’s DataMart(s) that drives a suite of Tableau dashboards for data discovery/exploration needs using SQL & Alteryx.
  • Manage and author new dashboards and maintain the existing suite of Tableau dashboards for the product quality team.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Exercise discretion, independent judgement, build, maintain, and deliver a broad spectrum of reports to key personnel with a high degree of automation and adaptability in mind (formulaic and parameterized coding style).
  • Utilize text mining tools (R or Python) for topic generation, sentiment analysis, and/or otherwise enrich existing datasets with generated features as well as classification tasks.
  • Deliver high quality ad-hoc data dumps, metrics, ranked lists, and insights on an as-needed basis in various formats.
  • Innovate new ways of problem solving that draw from best practices and innovations from other industries.
  • Maintain and transfer knowledge of emerging trends related to analytics, data management, statistical computing/machine learning, business intelligence, data visualization, etc.
  • Mentor junior team members in their analytical toolset growth.

Authority

  • This position requires a large amount of autonomy with regards to how analyses are conducted, deliverable due dates, and employee training/coaching.
  • The position will aid in future hiring decisions and give input with regards to team member performance. Lastly, this position will be required to support and be responsible for analytical processes that take place outside of normal business hours.
  • This position will have 1-2 direct reports.

Education

  • Must be a high school graduate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Statistics/Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering preferred.
  • Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

  • Six or more years of relevant experience in data and/or statistical analysis/reporting role.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred but not required.
  • One to two years of experience with Alteryx preferred.
  • Prior experience with survey data a strong plus.
  • One to two years of experience with Tableau desktop a plus.
  • Prior experience in text analytics a plus.
  • Business analyst certification a plus.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Advanced in Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess a strong analytical mindset.
  • Possess the willingness to learn new tools/methodologies to solve current and anticipated issues.
  • Able to recognize the needs of the end user and create reproducible solutions that answer those needs quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be detail orientated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess a strong ability to document

developed processes and best practices.

  • Maintain a positive and “can-do” attitude and an unbreakable commitment to delivering high quality analysis.
  • Strong technical skills in data wrangling and discovery.

Certification Required

  • Alteryx, Tableau, or Python Data Science certification preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Normal office duties
  • Able to travel domestically

Compensation : $103,700.00 - $140,300.00 Annual
