About the Team

The position is within the Motion Planning and Prediction team based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The team focuses on a wide range of aspects related to planning and prediction, including learning to predict behaviours from data, low-level trajectory planning and high-level reasoning over the optimal sequence of behaviours, all while taking into consideration the other traffic participants and predicting their reactions. What you will do

As part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating across multiple teams and research projects both within Five and Bosch, you will Propose and develop algorithms and machine learning models for safety-critical Motion Planning and Prediction targeting a large variety of scenarios. Keeping up with latest advances and research in the field, while sharing the knowledge and ideas with your colleagues with the objective of continuously improving our technology.

About You

  • You will ideally have a PhD degree in computer science, machine learning, computer vision or similar fields, or equivalent research experience in relevant industrial settings
  • You will have deep and proven experience with a variety of Machine Learning techniques, in particular with deep learning, unsupervised learning, and Bayesian inference methods, coupled with experience with one or more popular machine learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch or similar.
  • A broad understanding of computer science, machine learning and data analysis methods and theoretical foundations, along with the ability to recognise which approaches are useful in different situations
  • You will have strong software engineering experience with Python and C++, along with mathematical programming such as Numpy, Scipy or similar. Any experience with Cloud Computing Services would also be beneficial.
