Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Independently performs experimental investigations and similar research projects utilizing extensive applications of mathematical and statistical methodologies.
• Develops original computer code and programs for the application of new mathematical and statistical theories for the solution of proposed problems related to various scientific studies.
• Utilizes statistical software packages to manage, maintain and analyze large, complex statistical databases.
• Independently enters/verifies data fields and data dictionaries. Develops and performs descriptive and missing data analyses.
• Applies a variety of data reduction techniques Tracks/documents all modifications, errors and changes to all databases and decisions. Develops and coordinates the training program for staff in statistical and mathematical analyses.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in a science related field.
• Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.
• Five (5) years of specialized experience plus a BA/BS degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.
• Ten (10) years of experience in a related field.
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
• Expertise with Matlab.
• Knowledge of mathematical and statistical theory and its application to many scientific fields.
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain a Level 5: Public Trust
• Location: Bethesda, MD (sponsor)
