Job Description

MyTraffic is looking for a Data Science Manager to be responsible for our Data Science team which has for mission to generate valuable insights that power our clients decision making. The position will report directly to our CTO and the team is currently composed of 10 Data Scientists. It is an exciting opportunity for someone that would enjoy directly creating value for the company, strengthening our leading market position, as well as being a key player in powering our product with relevant DS & AI technology.

Objectives

Crack hard problems!After building solid statistics on pedestrian and vehicle data geolocation, we continue to improve the performance of our algorithms. We plan to explore new data sources to integrate into our platform. We also want to explore advanced techniques to build more robust models and increase quality over time. You will have to lead the way, managing data science projects from inception to completion, balancing pragmatism and exploratory work.

Ensuring continuous high quality insightsWhilst we develop new features and improvements to our insights engine, we have to maintain a high level of insight quality to our customers. This means having a solid quality control plan both on source data and on the insights end. You will also have to collaborate with other teams (Product, CSM, Operations) to identify pain points and opportunities for optimization, and implement changes that increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Find new ways to better serve our customersAs a Data Science Leader, you should be aware of the state of the art and how technology could better serve our customers. You will identify opportunities and dive deep to inspire and influence.Improve team performanceYou must have a technical background to understand the team's blockers, to be able to evaluate individual contributions and to recruit effectively for the team. You will be responsible for your teams’ operations, decision making, KPIs, documentation and organization (processes & tools).

 About You

We are looking for a leader with excellent product sense. You have a proven track record of focusing organizations on results whilst exploring & developing new ways. Equally important, you have a proven track record of growing organizations, hiring & mentoring ICs and ideally managers, and enabling people to hit their career aspirations. As this is a high-visibility role, the ideal candidate has very strong communication skills and should be comfortable interfacing with leaders in a cross-functional capacity within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Minimum qualifications

- 7+ years of hands-on data science experience incl. applied AI

- 5+ years experience managing a team of data scientists. Managing managers is a clear advantage.- Experience and track record influencing product planning & strategy.

- Experience in cross-functional partnership among teams of Engineering, Design, PM, Data Engineering.- Experience initiating and driving projects to completion autonomously.

- Experience with Data Eng, ML Ops and LLMs are a solid plus
