The Opportunity

The Engineer II enhances both our front-end web applications and our back-end systems using a combination of next-generation web and Microsoft .NET CORE/C# technologies, JavaScript, and standard engineering practices. They are responsible for working with the client application teams, quality assurance team, and architect team to ensure the delivery of high quality, high value product features. 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Development of large-scale enterprise cloud platforms that service multiple client applications
  • Performance analysis and memory utilization
  • Build reusable code and libraries using efficient, testable coding practices
  • Logically identify and resolve issues using root cause analysis
  • Provide development support in debugging and resolving defects as assigned, in support of assigned development projects and/or testing efforts
  • Provide estimates of level of work effort and time for completion
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies
  • Fundamental understanding of software design and delivery

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • BS degree in Computer Sciences, programming or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience 
  • 3 to 5 years professional experience developing and analyzing cloud infrastructures and back-end systems using Microsoft technologies including C#
  • 3 to 5 years professional experience developing and analyzing web applications using technologies including JavaScript, CSS, SASS or other CSS preprocessor, HTML, REST, and AJAX, ASP .Net
  • Experience in client side MVVM JavaScript frameworks like React, Redux, Angular and or similar
  • Familiarity with open-source packages and license types
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles, Data Structures, and Algorithms
  • Experience using Unit testing tools such as NUnit and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Understanding of Agile processes and workflow
  • Capable of analyzing issues in existing code and providing root cause analysis as well as remedy options
  • Capable of planning and estimating assigned work items effectively
  • Capable of delivering pieces of functionality with little or no guidance from senior team members
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task efficiently
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • This position is fully remote with only occasional travel to the office for team meetings and events. Team members are expected to have an established workspace.
  • Ability to work remotely in the United States or Canada.
